Meet the Team
Mike and Greg Tomkins are a team of financial advisors in Nanaimo with over 40 years of combined experience. Between the two of them they have earned both the CFP and CFA designations.
Mike Tomkins
Mike has been a financial advisor since 1986. Since then, he has been helping clients achieve their financial goals. This experience has taught him the importance of building a solid plan and to avoid making decisions based on emotions. Mike stresses the importance of having realistic goals and attainable objectives. Everyone’s financial situation is unique and their plan, investments, and insurance should reflect this.
Mike spends the majority of his spare time with his family. As a father, he believes in putting his family first and uses his financial knowledge to achieve this. With two daughters and three sons, he has planned for not only his future but theirs as well.

Greg Tomkins, CFA
Greg was born and raised in beautiful Nanaimo, British Columbia. He attended Vancouver Island University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Greg also spent a year in Australia studying finance while attending Deakin University.
Continual learning is a key to success and Greg emphasizes this. After completing his degree, he has continued his education by earning the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in August 2016.
In his spare time, Greg tries to keep active and healthy with family and friends. This includes mountain biking, surfing, tennis, golf, going to the gym, or spending the weekend at Sproat Lake.

Although Assante is not responsible for any service or product supplied through First Choice Tax Services, Assante will monitor for conflicts of interest, and investigate any client complaints related to services offered by First Choice Tax Services.
